This is a support position located in the secondary Science department. The Science Technician will assist the Head of Science and teachers to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Science laboratories. The Help Desk position involves giving assistance in rectifying PC / Mac / iPad related issues such as getting a computer to turn on, boot, login or shutdown correctly.听 Other issues could require diagnosis of hardware failure, software installation or configuration errors, printer-related problems, email communication, Internet connectivity, and advice on how to get the best from their PC / Mac / iPad. We are seeking a dedicated Student Counsellor to join our team and support the emotional wellbeing of our students. This role involves providing comprehensive counselling services aligned with our College’s Christian values. The Student Counsellor will be a key resource for students and families, aiding in personal, academic, social, and spiritual development.

Qualifications & Essential Criteria includes:

A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Education or Counselling or related area.
Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Psychology and/or Guidance and Counselling (Masters level preferred).
Profess a Christian belief and regularly attend a church fellowship.
Model Christian character and living within the community.

Key Responsibilities and Duties of this Position include:

Provide Counselling Services:

Offer evidence-based counselling, support, and crisis intervention to individuals, addressing mental health, wellbeing, and situational concerns such as grief, loss, or difficult transitions.
Maintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date documentation in line with policy, privacy, and ethical standards.
Follow policies, ethical guidelines, legal requirements, and standards of practice, including informed consent and confidentiality.
Counsel individuals and facilitate group sessions to promote positive mental health and social/emotional wellness.
Collaborate with support teams to develop treatment plans and provide ongoing care.
Develop Collaborative Structures:
Escalate complex and urgent cases to appropriate supervisors or leadership as needed.
Work with staff to develop strategies that meet the needs of individuals.
Collaborate with teams, external professionals, and families to ensure optimal outcomes.
Work with leadership and support teams to promote welfare.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
Provide support and referrals to external agencies and professionals.
Collaborate with external agencies and allied health professionals.
Establish and maintain caring relationships with individuals and their families to support them through difficult circumstances.
